Brenton Wood: “Gimme a Little Sign”

I came across this Brenton Wood LP about a month ago, and haven’t been able to get this track out of my head since…That undeniably funky keyboard solo at the 1:22 mark is ridiculous too. What’s even more ridiculous is the way that Dilla chopped and looped it into the Donuts bonus track “Signs.”
Bottom line, Brenton Wood is the definition of Street-Soul and deserves all the props thrown his way..
