Rhymefest Terrorist

July 22, 2008

They did what???

According to Fake Shore Drive, somebody got ahold of Rhymefest’s iPod while he wasn’t looking.  Long story short, this “Prometheus” music-jacker is threatening to release one track a week from his forthcoming El Che LP, which has been pushed back and pushed back and pushed back…Prometheus is a Rhymefest fan, but insists that by doing so, the label will be forced to finally release his long-awaited album.  Here’s proof:

Rhymefest: “Real N***a Quotes (prod. DJ Premier)”

Rhymefest: “Bring It Back (prod. Jazzy Jeff)”

My thoughts after the jump..

Hella Murs & 9th Wonder

July 21, 2008

I know I’m about a week late on some of these leaks, but I thought I should compile them all into one post anyway.  Here you go my dunnies:

Murs & 9th Wonder: “Give Us Free” ; “Nina Ross” ; “Are You Ready”

UPDATE: “And I Love It”

These are all off the latest Murs & 9th LP Sweet Lord, which will be available for free download shortly…

Dilla Ghost Doom

July 21, 2008

The latest 12″ from Stones Throw are a couple Dilla-produced joints for both MF Doom and Ghostface.  Apparently, the Doom track was supposed to be attached to a Dilla/Doom project that began in 2005.  Needless to say, this album was scrapped before being completed:

1) “Sniper Elite” – MF Doom (prod. J Dilla)

2) “Murder Goons” – Ghostface (prod. J Dilla)

Sounds pretty crack to me!

We Got That Boom Boom

July 18, 2008

Dilla: “Oxtopus (Boom Boom)”

This is apparently one of the last recordings Mr. Pay Jay recorded before his untimely death in 2006…I think I heard a version of this on one of those J. Rocc Podcasts sometime last year.

Turn It Up!

Good looks Nah.

Sweet Lord

So the long-awaited Sweet Lord is finally seeing the day-of-light…Even better, it’s going to be available for free download next week!!!

Mash Out Puppets

July 18, 2008

This might be the greatest video of all time…It’s like the three-year-old and sixteen-year-old in me finally agreed to get along.

Untitled

July 16, 2008

Let’s just put it out there…When it comes to new Nas albums (post God’s Son) I’m the first one to feel a little skeptical. He’s arguably the best lyricist in the game, and anyone who has followed his past works more than likely shares a certain level of expectation. Such LP’s as Illmatic, It Was Written, God’s Son, and Stillmatic are all solid entries to his overall catalog, but the remaining albums are somewhat lacking.

That being said, I was a little hesitant about his latest entry Untitled

This was the anthem back in the day!  No other song in recent memory brings the gutter out of me quite like The Artifacts first single…Who’s down to drink Old English 800 40′s all day and hit the Avenue with a backpack full of spray?  You better remember to tie those Timberland laces up tight…
