The Cyphr

Wale (feat. Young Chris, Freeway, and Beanie Sigel): “Cyphr”
Now this is what I’m talking about…Gutter hip-hop in its best form! I swear Wale is becoming a very good thing for hip-hop. Oh, and he’s pretty much separated himself from the “hipster rap” category if you axe me.
Had to leave my old team like Brett Favre
Me and This Jawn

This album is going to be dope…Mark my words Bass heads.
Murs for President is dropping Setember 30th.
King of the Wigflip
August 20, 2008
Here’s a snippet of the upcoming Madlib BBE project WLIB AM King of the Wigflip. If this is anythying like their previous Beat Generation releases (i.e. Petestrumentals, and Welcome to Detroit), then we should be in for something special..
Oh yeah, and it drops on Septermber 30th as well…I’ve been trying to tell you about that date!
Jeru the Damaja: “Come Clean”
August 20, 2008
MAN….This is defintely one of my favorite Jeru tracks (and Premier beats). The best part about the Jeru/Preemo collaborations is that Jeru allowed Premier to come a little more rugged than he could with Gang Starr. No diss to one of the best duos ever, but I think Preemo was a little more flexible with Jeru’s grimey style.
While I tend to lean a little more towards Wrath of the Math, his debut LP has a ton of gems on them (including the above). Regardless, Jeru is one of the GOAT’s and this track will always get play from the good folks at Bass Rocks. Oh, and quotables for days too…
You don’t know enough math to count the mics that I’ve ripped.
The Greatest Digger Of All Time
August 19, 2008
Seriously? Are you telling me that Just Blaze doesn’t have an extra $3 million for the greatest source of sampling in the history of digging? The potential for beats is limitless, and I find it hard to believe that someone like Kanye West isn’t interested in the least bit.
What about a write-up in Waxpoetics? Anyone? McFly?

Big L: “Principal of the New School”
Apparently, the above recording could be the first Big L track EVER. If this is the case, he just shitted on every rapper in the game.
Big L Rest in Peace…
Mark Your Calendars
August 15, 2008
I’m not sure if anyone knows this, but we have a very important date in music coming up next month. September 30th marks the release date of some big albums in 2008…Murs For President (Murs), Politics as Usual (Termanology), and Main Source (Large Professor).
The significance of this lies in the fact the aforementioned artists stand as an example of where hip-hop needs to be going…Some legit beatmaking (Large Pro), consistently strong lyrics (Murs), and of course, respect within the game (Termanology).
Continue on for the break-down..
Dead Man Walking
August 15, 2008

I can’t even believe THIS kind of stuff still happens in 2008. The fact that this guy is walking around New York wearing the above shirt is absolutely mind-blowing. From the idiot above:
“This is very disturbing to me that I am living in New York City and that I own a boutique for more than five and a half years [in] neighborhoods which are suppose to be the most open-minded and tolerant to any kind of art, but instead, people don’t understand me, hate me and don’t let me express myself the way everyone should be able to in New York.”
Man I wish this guy would try to sell his shirts at a Dead Prez show…

Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic
August 14, 2008
For Bass Radio this week I decided to pay homage to the late great Isaac Hayes…More notably, one of his funkiest songs ever written, “Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic.” This track particularly grabbed the attention of such hip-hop legends as Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, and The Bomb Squad…If you’re not familiar with the sample I’m referring to, wait for it…It’s there.
R.I.P. to a true soul pioneer…
