It Ain’t Hard To Tell

According to Nah Right, a novel about Nas’ debut album Illmatic is currently in the works. Apparently, it will be an intricate assessment of each individual track, and will look into the importance of the record as a whole.
It’s no secret that I believe Illmatic to be the greatest hip-hop album of all time, so I’m incredibly excited about the idea of this book. The novel is being written by Michael Eric Dyson, and no release date has been set yet.

Chiggity-check ya self before you wreck ya self…I recently came across this jam on an exclusive 12″ for the above track. For me, this is one remix that works perfectly. Taken from the hip-hop classic, “The Message,” Ice Cube sounds as raw as ever, and this very well could be the best remix in his catalogue.
