Best Album of 2008?

October 27, 2008

I know it’s a bit early, and some of these haven’t dropped yet, but I thought I’d give the readers a jump start for this years “Best Album of 2008.”  My Bass Rocks will decide the finalists early January, so polls will remain open until then.

Right now it’s a close one, so I’m not sure how this thing will go.  There was a good mix of underground (The Knux, Guilty Simpson, Murs), mainstream (T.I., Lil’ Wayne), and throwback (Q-Tip, Large Professor).  Some of these albums didn’t live up to the hype, while others excelled beyond expectations.  Here’s the list for right now:

Guilty Simpson: Ode to the Ghetto
T.I.: Paper Trail
Nas: Untitled
Jake One: White Van Music
Madlib: WLIM AM: King of the Wigflip
The Roots: Rising Down
Murs: Murs for President
Common: Universal Mind Control
Q-Tip: The Renaissance
The Knux: Remind Me in 3 Days
Large Professor: Main Source

I put Wayne in there too, just to keep it all the way PC.  You can only vote once, so keep it trill…

UPDATE:  If you have another album in mind, leave a comment below and I’ll adjust the poll accordingly.
